Youngster Bertrand Traore has signed a new contract and completed a loan move to Ajax, Chelsea have confirmed via their official website.
The 20-year-old forward made his Blues debut at the start of last season and finished the campaign with a decent return of four goals in 16 appearances across all competitions – including two strikes in the Premier League.
But it appears the Burkina-Faso international, who has already represented his country on 28 occasions, is not in Antonio Conte’s plans for the 2016/17 campaign.
Reports emerged on Thursday claiming Traore had agreed to join Ajax on a season-long loan and Chelsea have now confirmed the deal via their official website.
But the west London club have also revealed that ahead of his move to the Amsterdam Arena, Traore has signed a new three-year contract – extending his Stamford Bridge stay until 2019.
Traore has history in the Dutch top flight, bagging 17 goals in 48 Eredivisie appearances during 18 months at Chelsea’s feeder club Vitesse Arnhem.
