According to Goal.com, Chelsea are not prepared to sell N'Golo Kante this summer despite strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

What's the story?

Kante was the named the PFA Player of the Year last season after helping Chelsea win the title following his arrival from Leicester City in the summer of 2016.

The 27-year-old's form has again been impressive this season, but Chelsea are facing the possibility of missing out on the Champions League next term, which has led to suggestions that Kante could seek pastures new.

According to Goal.com, Chelsea are well aware that French giants PSG want to land the energetic midfielder ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, but the former English champions will resist any offers that arrive this summer.

A number of players - including Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois - are said to be considering their futures at Stamford Bridge, while there remains huge uncertainty surrounding Antonio Conte's position as head coach of the London club.

Can Chelsea realistically keep Kante?

Kante is not a Hazard or a Courtois in the sense that he will not kick up a fuss in a bid to leave Chelsea in this summer's transfer window. The midfielder is just not that type of character, which makes him even more popular with the Chelsea fans.

There is no question that he will want to play in the Champions League next term, however, and it would not be a surprise if the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Adrien Rabiot attempted to work their magic on their French teammate at the 2018 World Cup.

Kante is valued at £54m by transfermarkt.co.uk, and PSG would more than likely have to come up with an offer in excess of that in order to gain Chelsea's interest, but the Paris club have Financial Fair Play to think about.

The Blues are said to be determined to keep hold of the defensive midfielder this summer, and that must simply occur if they want to launch a title challenge next season.
