Chelsea look set to win the race for in-form Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira, with Stamford Bridge pair Oscar and Willian having persuaded their compatriot that his future lies in west London, according to reports from Metro.
The Blues have been linked with the Brazilian attacking midfielder for much of the past few months as they seek to add to their squad this month in a bid to recover from a woeful start to the season.
Teixeira is currently one of Europe’s hottest goalscorers, with the 25-year-old having netted an impressive 22 times in the Ukrainian top tier already this term.
And reports claim that the South American is eager to join Chelsea after being talked around by Oscar and Willian.
The current Stamford Bridge duo hail from the same nation as Teixeira and are thought to have been speaking to him in recent weeks.
Willian is known to have a good relationship with the Shakhtar man after growing close to him while he was playing for the Donetsk giants.
