Chelsea & Euro giants open transfer talks, with gigantic star tipped for Everton move

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Chelsea have opened talks with AC Milan regarding a potential transfer for goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

The 34-year-old is a well-established goalkeeper, having enjoyed affluent spells with Villarreal and Real Madrid before moving to the San Siro in summer 2014.

But the one-cap Spain international found himself usurped from the Rossoneri starting line-up by teenage sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma last season – the 17-year-old who finished the 2015/16 campaign with ten clean sheets in 30 appearances.

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea have now entered talks with AC Milan in a bid to strike up a deal for Lopez, who lifted the 2014 Champions League title during his time at the Bernabeu.

They’re lining him up as a potential replacement to understudy goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, who The Mail claim could be on his way to Everton.

Manager Ronald Koeman has informed The Liverpool Echo that finding a long-term successor to Tim Howard is one of his priorities this summer and the 6 foot 6 Bosnian international was linked with a Goodison move by The Sun back in February.
