Chelsea eyeing £20m England international as replacement for key star

Chelsea will turn their attention to Southampton’s Fraser Forster this summer should they be unable to keep Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge, according to reports from The Sun.

The Belgium international recently fuelled rumours that he could leave west London in the not too distant future by claiming ‘doesn’t know where he’ll be next season’, as the Blues head towards a campaign without any form of European football.

Courtois himself will likely attract much attention from some of the continent’s biggest club sides given his showings for Chelsea, and at Atletico Madrid during a three-year loan stint, and if the Premier League champions are unable to convince him to stay, reports claim that Forster is the man they want to replace him.

The 28-year-old has been a huge hit since joining Southampton from Celtic in 2014, and is in line to travel to France as part of England’s EURO 2016 set-up this summer.

Forster returned from a long-term injury earlier this season and went a stunning 708-minutes of action without conceding a goal upon his comeback.
