Pedro was able to break the deadlock for Chelsea against Bournemouth on Saturday after coming on as a substitute in a closely contested encounter with the South Coast club. The Spaniard’s goal earned the three points for the Blues, who maintained their 100% start to the season under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Pedro’s goal at Stamford Bridge was his third of the season already, and the 31-year-old has looked completely revitalised under the new boss’ instructions. After struggling for starts under Antonio Conte last time out, Pedro will be hoping that his good form can continue and that he can become a vital first XI player this season.
Pedro himself will not be the only one wishing to see his bright start maintained throughout the course of the campaign – the Stamford Bridge faithful will also be hoping that there is more to come from the attacker.
After the game against the Cherries, many Chelsea fans took to Twitter to celebrate Pedro’s strong start…
I really think this will be Pedro’s best season for us, he’s been brilliant so far and he fits the system perfectly.

Seeing pedro play like this under Sarri makes me wonder and feel gutted how chelsea wasted his peak years under defensive managers like mourinho and conte . #CFC

If he continues this way we should seriously look at using Pedro up front like Sarri did with Mertins

Another aspect of Pedro v Willian debate that hasn’t been talked about is that Pedro is used to operating in a team with 60%+ possession (Barcelona) whilst Willian has found himself playing under counter attacking managers at Chelsea. Another reason why a better fit under Sarri.

Today’s result and performance fully cements that Pedro and Olivier Giroud should be starting over Willian and Morata. #CFC
