It looks like this could be the year that Eden Hazard finally leaves Chelsea. However, The Standard has reported that Real Madrid chief executive, Jose Angel Sánchez, has already been and gone in London without a deal for Hazard being arranged.

The Chelsea fans reading this may be holding out a glimmer of hope, but it may not stay like this for long. We all saw THAT interview on BT Sport from the Belgian in the aftermath of the Europa League final in which he single-handedly destroyed Arsenal.

The realistic option is that Hazard leaves the club, but whilst Marina Granovskaia is involved it will not be easy for the Real Madrid hierarchy.

Chelsea's Canadian-Russian director has become notorious in the footballing world and back in 2014, when Ron Gourley left the club, she made the step up to become one of the most powerful women in football, according to The Telegraph.

If by some miracle, Granovskaia can ensure Hazard remains in London past this summer then that position will only be further confirmed, although not many fans are holding out hope of the Belgian staying.
