Chelsea fans are unsure on Mason Mount after heavy opening weekend defeat

Chelsea got off to a woeful start on the opening weekend of the Premier League as they suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Manchester United.

The Blues were particularly poor defensively but they did also field a number of younger players.

In midfield, Mason Mount started whilst Tammy Abraham led the line. The latter hit the post with a powerful effort in the first half whilst the former only showed brief glimpses of the quality he offered to Derby last term.

His display left Chelsea fans somewhat unsure on him, as they offered differing opinions on the 20-year-old.

One fan said he could have scored if he wasn’t a clown whilst one claimed they couldn’t care less if he ran around like a headless chicken because Ross Barkley is better.

Another supporter shared his uncertainty by claiming he shouldn’t be a starter yet.

Mount scored nine goals and assisted four strikes in the Championship last term whilst playing under Frank Lampard at Derby.

Here’s what Chelsea fans have been saying about him.
