Chelsea fans astonished by Kepa strop

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga stole the headlines from Manchester City’s Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out triumph after throwing an epic strop on the pitch at the end of extra time.

With the scores at 0-0 and a shootout looming, Kepa appeared to sustain an injury in the dying stages of the second half of the additional 30 minutes.

Manager Maurizio Sarri attempted to substitute Willy Caballero on but the 24-year-old refused to leave the pitch, wildly gesticulating at his manager that he had no intention of coming off.

Sarri continued to attempt to send Caballero on and then even attempted to walk down the tunnel, seemingly set to leave his team to face the shootout without his management.

Kepa subsequently faced City’s penalties but, while he made one save from Leroy Sane’s effort, he could not help his side to victory.

Successful penalties from Ilkay Gundogan, Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling proved decisive, with both Jorginho and David Luiz missing from 12 yards for Sarri’s side.

And Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to express their disgust at Kepa’s actions, with many believing them to be the catalyst for their defeat. Take a look at some of the best reaction below!
