Chelsea will have to turn to youth to freshen the squad with the club's transfer ban saga yet to be resolved.

Despite the likes of Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham waiting to seal game-time with the Blues, one club legend has been called for a return by fans after his appearance on tour, even if it may have been meant somewhat sarcastically.

The Londoners are out in Japan on a pre-season tour to continue their preparation ahead of their opening game of the season against Manchester United. The squad contained a plethora of young talent, but making an appearance at the training ground was club legend and ex-England left-back Ashley Cole.

Cole's legacy as an Invincible at Arsenal was called into question when he left Highbury for the Roman Abramovich project, but he went on to bleed blue as his side secured multiple league titles as well as the treasured Champions League trophy that eluded Chelsea for so long.

Current left-backs Marcos Alonso and Emerson have at times failed to impress the fanbase, even if the former has been a regular fixture in the starting XI in recent seasons. No signings can come in and replace the duo, but that hasn't stopped fans jokingly dreaming of the prospect of Cole leading their backline once again.
