According to Sky Sports, Chelsea look unlikely to sign target Edin Dzeko from Roma before the January transfer window slams shut on Wednesday, and Blues fans think they are going to get Stoke City’s Peter Crouch instead.
The Premier League holders have been heavily linked with a move for Dzeko in recent weeks, but Sky Sports report that a proposed permanent deal is unlikely to happen before the end of the month.
Antonio Conte will be forced to look elsewhere if that is the case, and having also been linked with Crouch by The Telegraph on January 18, the Stamford Bridge faithful believe he is the man that could be arriving to provide cover and competition for Alvaro Morata.
Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the Dzeko deal falling through via social media, with more than one person saying “welcome to Chelsea, Peter Crouch”.
