As we approach the end of the year, it is time to reward those who impressed over the past 12 months.
On Monday, the nominees for the Ballon d’Or award were revealed by France Football. 30 players were included on the shortlist and, whilst there were 15 men from the Premier League who were included, there was no place for any of Chelsea’s stars. Eden Hazard, the only one with any real link to the team, left for Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

However, there has been some recognition for one Blue. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been named on the shortlist for the Yashin Award, named after the legendary USSR shot-stopper, along with nine others in his position. At 25 years of age, he is the second-youngest man to be included.
The Chelsea fans are clearly delighted with the news, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

But it is better getting nominated. It means his hardwork and performance is being recognised and getting nominated is a step towards winning it some time later.
