Ruben Loftus-Cheek is in contention to return to action for Chelsea when they host Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, per a tweet from the club’s official account during Gianfranco Zola’s pre-match press conference.
Zola has good news about Ruben Loftus-Cheek who is back in training today. A decision will be made tomorrow about whether he can feature on Sunday.

The English midfielder has not played for the club since their FA Cup clash with Nottingham Forest earlier this month, due to a back injury.
However, Zola, who is Maurizio Sarri’s assistant manager, has confirmed that he is in contention to play against the Owls at Stamford Bridge as the west London outfit look to follow up their Carabao Cup semi-final success by reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Loftus-Cheek’s return comes as a major boost for Sarri’s side, who have been frustrated in their pursuit of a central midfielder throughout January.
Check out the video below for Emma Conybeare’s rundown of which clubs need what in the January transfer window…
The club has yet to bring in a midfielder in January, despite allowing Cesc Fabregas, per BBC, to join AS Monaco in a deal that did not involve a transfer fee.
Bringing the 23-year-old back into the fold offers a potential solution for the Italian, provided that he can stay fit throughout the remainder of the season.
And Chelsea fans are delighted at the prospect of the midfielder, who has won 10 caps for England, making his imminent return at Stamford Bridge.

Loftus Cheek is going to be immense for the rest of the season. Fingers crossed he stays fit. A goal threat from LCM? Surely too good to be true.
