It has been a difficult start to the season for Chelsea as they have yet to register a win in their first three games.
One of the positives from the Blues fans’ perspective, though, is Frank Lampard’s use of some of the club’s younger players, with Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori all already having featured during this campaign.
And the former Derby County boss was at Stamford Bridge to see the south-west London outfit’s development team play against Liverpool in the PL2, perhaps to look at some other players who could break into his first-team squad.

The home side easily dispatched the Reds 3-0, and Billy Gilmour impressed in midfield. The 18-year-old was included in the squad for the UEFA Super Cup final, which received a positive reaction from the supporters, and they were once again delighted with the former Rangers man thanks to his performance on Monday.
They took to Twitter to share their praise. You can see some of the best comments below.
Really impressed by young Billy Gilmour in the U23s for Chelsea tonight. He looks a star in the making! Good workouts for Toni and Michy too! Hopefully gives Lamps a few options for the weekend.

Chelsea U-23 3-0 Liverpool U-23
2 goals and an assist for Batshuayi – Batshuayi > Abraham, absolute no brainer.
Tino Anjorin was impressive too.

Billy Gilmour dictated the game tonight from the 1st minute to the last, would be good to see him get some first team minutes this season.
