Following reports confirming Maurizio Sarri will be leaving the club to join Juventus, Chelsea are understandably stepping up their efforts to bring in their next manager at Stamford Bridge.

All signs point to that man being club legend Frank Lampard, with the latest updates suggesting that the Derby County boss is the leading candidate for the Chelsea hotseat.

The Telegraph report that Derby will demand a compensation fee of £4m for Lampard and that news drew a surprisingly mixed response from Blues fans on Twitter.

Many Chelsea supporters were unconcerned by the amount of money needed to bring their former star back to west London, and pointed to the £5m fee they would be receiving from Juventus for Sarri as a perfect equaliser.

Indeed, with the Blues facing the prospect of a transfer ban this summer, some fans joked that as they couldn't spend their money elsewhere they may as well use it to bring Lampard in.

Some fans however were a little more reluctant to see the club spend that some of money on a compensation package and even suggested that it was "not worth it at this point" and labelled it as "crazy".
