Chelsea announced on their official website on Monday that technical director Michael Emenalo had stepped down after 10 years with the club, and Blues fans were divided on the news.
The Telegraph says the 52-year-old shocked owner Roman Abramovich with his decision to quit, as the Russian often trusted and took advice from him when it came to transfers and knowledge on players, but the Stamford Bridge faithful have often been less than convinced with some of the signings the Nigerian has been responsible for.
During Emenalo’s decade with the west London outfit they won the Premier League title on three occasions, as well as the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League and Champions League, and current boss Antonio Conte was the 10th manager that he had worked closely with.
Chelsea supporters were quick to have their say on the news via social media and they were divided with their opinions.
While one simply said “get in”, another was less impressed and said “I feel so sad”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…

As a Nigerian and a Chelseafc fan, I feel so sad. He's been so good at his job and cfc will surely miss his specialty in recruitment!

I wouldn't class it as a major blow more a boost. The guy was poison in our club.
