Some Chelsea fans are disappointed at the news that defender Tomas Kalas has made the move to Bristol City after nine years at the club.

The 26-year-old joined the Blues back in the summer of 2010 but registered just four appearances having spent much of that time out on loan.

The clubs he had spells with while still a Chelsea player included Fulham, Middlesbrough, Cologne and most recently at Ashton Gate, where he is now a permanent player.

The deal Bristol City struck was an undisclosed fee but has been reported by the BBC as being a record transfer deal for the Championship side.

Undoubtedly the highlight of the Czech man's career at Stamford Bridge was his performance in a 2-0 win at Anfield back in 2014, which also involved the infamous 'Gerrard slip' that ultimately handed Manchester City the title.

Could United be in the hunt for an £85m blockbuster signing this summer? Check out the video below...

But Kalas did not manage to break into the starting Xl despite that clean sheet and found himself back out on loan in the Bundesliga the following season.

And these Blues fans were sad to see the centre-half fail to fulfil his potential at the Europa League winners:

Tomas Kalas has tonight completed a permanent move to Bristol City. Thanks and good luck, Tomas!
