Reported Chelsea target Robert Lewandowski struggled in Poland's 2-1 defeat to Senegal in their opening 2018 World Cup group game on Tuesday, and Blues fans don't want their club to sign the 6ft 1in tall centre-forward.

The prolific Bayern Munich man, who scored 41 goals in 48 matches in all competitons for the Bundesliga champions last term, started as a lone striker ahead of Arkadiusz Milik against the African outfit, and he was his country's big hope to find the net going into the tournament.

However, he struggled throughout – not helped by a lack of creativity and support from those players behind him – with his best opportunity coming when he saw his free-kick palmed away by the Senegal goalkeeper in the second half.

Chelsea supporters, who want their club to make a shock swoop for a South American duo from the same World Cup nation to potentially replace Victor Moses and Willian, were quick to have their say on the 29-year-old's display via social media, and while one said "Lewandowski has Torres written all over it", another said "please keep him away from Chelsea".
