Loads of Chelsea fans are over the moon after Frank Lampard was confirmed as the club's new manager.

The former England international joins the west London club from Championship side Derby, whom he guided to the play-off final where they were beaten by Aston Villa.

It is the case that the Blues legend had been tipped for the job even before his predecessor Maurizio Sarri left in June for Serie A side Juventus.

Lampard contributed 209 goals and 150 assists in 640 games as a player for Chelsea, winning 13 trophies including the Champions League and three Premier League titles.

He will have the not-so-enjoyable position of having to deal with the team's transfer ban, which will means they cannot purchase any players until the 2020 summer window.

But irrespective of the circumstances surrounding the club, the 41-year-old is stepping into a supportive atmosphere from the fans, who are thoroughly excited to have him back for the first time since 2014.
