Under Frank Lampard, it seems that some of Chelsea's younger players may finally get a chance to prove themselves at the highest level.

Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have both been heavily involved in pre-season, whilst the new boss has also made it clear that he wants Callum Hudson-Odoi to a sign a new long-term deal to keep him in London.

Another former academy star who could play a big role in the first-team squad next season is Reece James. The 19-year-old is currently out injured, but the Blues are reported to have rejected a £25m bid from Crystal Palace for the right-back. This is a sign that they rate him highly at the club.

And journalist Matt Law has given another indication that James has a big future at Stamford Bridge. He has reported that Chelsea will allow Davide Zappacosta to leave the club - either on loan or permanently - once the teenager gets closer to full fitness.

The Blues faithful have reacted positively to the report, and appear delighted by the development. They have taken to Twitter to share their glee, and you can see some of the best Tweets below.
