During a bad run of results, Chelsea fans tend to take aim at certain players, as well as manager Antonio Conte.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has come under fire in recent weeks, and defender Andreas Christensen felt a bit of heat for a few blunders at the back.

One mistake in particular cost Chelsea a goal in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash against Barcelona, who sealed a place in the quarter-finals in the return fixture at the Camp Nou.

Christensen has been part of the Blues’ setup since 2012 when he joined the club’s youth academy from Brondby.

It is this season, though, where he has begun to show his quality having started 30 games in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League.

During Chelsea’s title-winning campaign, Cesar Azpilicueta, David Luiz and Gary Cahill formed a tight back three, but Christensen has now entered the party.

At just 21 years of age, the Dane has plenty of development left in him, and in a video piece uploaded to Chelsea’s Twitter page, fans made it clear that they have big expectations for the defender.
