The rumours linking Maurizio Sarri with Chelsea intensified on Wednesday when it was confirmed that he had left Napoli, and Blues fans are already excited about the potential of the returning Kurt Zouma working under the Italian.

While Antonio Conte remains in charge at Stamford Bridge as things stand, his future is in doubt after the west London outfit's miserable Premier League title defence which saw them finish fifth and miss out on Champions League qualification this season.

Meanwhile, 6ft 3in beast Zouma spent the campaign on loan with Stoke City, but it ended in disappointment for the centre-back as the Potters suffered relegation to the Championship following a tough year.

Chelsea supporters, who are excited by the potential of a £170m overhaul of their frontline that would allow Eden Hazard to shine, have been quick to have their say on the potential link-up between Zouma and Sarri, who helped Kalidou Koulibaly develop into one of the best central defenders in Europe during his time with Napoli, via social media.

While one said "Koulibaly 2.0 incoming", another said "I see Zouma going up about 10 levels under Sarri".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
