Chelsea have given themselves a fighting chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after drawing 1-1 with Barcelona at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Facing the La Liga leaders was always going to be difficult for Antonio Conte's side but they produced a committed performance to leave the tie in the balance ahead of the return leg at the Nou Camp.

Willian was the star of the show for the Blues, eventually scoring an excellent low drive in the second half after smashing each goal post with two long range efforts in the first 45 minutes.

Chelsea fans were pleased with the performance overall but many feel that if Conte had tweaked his tactics and selection a little that they could have picked up a famous victory.

The Italian chose not to start either Olivier Giroud or Alvaro Morata in attack, instead playing Eden Hazard through the middle, flanked by Pedro and Willian.

Without a dedicated focal point up front, chances were hard to come by and fans feel that playing either or bringing on one of his more physical strikers earlier than he did would have boosted the Blues' chance of a win.

Morata eventually came on with seven minutes remaining but it was too late for him to be able to change the outcome.
