With the prospect of a transfer ban threatening to derail their summer and the club's best player already gone, things are not quite shaping up as Chelsea fans might have hoped.

Since the Europa League triumph, the Blues have had to watch Eden Hazard depart for Real Madrid, and have seemingly made little progress on their appeal to get their ban uplifted for the upcoming season.

And with the club needing to rely on their academy players now more than ever, the surprising news of Ola Aina's exit on a permanent deal to Torino has left Chelsea fans on Twitter in uproar.

The 22-year-old had been highly-rated at Stamford Bridge as a youngster, but has seen the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Davide Zappacosta figure more prominently in the pecking order.

The news of Aina's move was met with frustration by Blues supporters, with many suggesting that the club's board had made a huge mistake in not making significant efforts to keep him in west London.

Indeed, the Nigerian international's progress in Italy only served to annoy Chelsea fans even more, who felt he represented a better option than some of their current full-backs and still had the potential to grow even more.
