Chelsea are facing the very real prospect of missing out on next season's Champions League but one man who looks set to be involved next time around and is making a huge impact on this year's tournament is former Blues man Mo Salah.

The 57-cap Egypt international scored two and set up two more as Liverpool destroyed another of his former clubs - Roma - 5-2 in the first leg of their semi-final clash to go within four of Ian Rush's Reds record of 47 strikes in a season.

That led Blues fans, not for the first time this season, to imagine what might have been if Jose Mourinho - the man they will face off against in the final of the FA Cup next month - hadn't sold the wideman during his second Stamford Bridge tenure.
