Chelsea are notorious for failing to give their young talent first-team opportunities despite having some starlets within their ranks.
Mason Mount is one of the academy products having joined the Blues’ youth system in 2005.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Vitesse and during the current campaign he is gaining more experience under the guidance of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard.
Mount signed for Derby County in the summer on a season-long loan and has impressed in the Championship.
The midfielder has made 16 appearances in all competitions, including 13 in the league.
During that time the Portsmouth-born teenager has scored five goals and created one assist.
On Saturday, Mount played the full 90 minutes of Derby’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United and he was named man of the match after the final whistle.
On Twitter and Reddit some Chelsea fans praised the youngster, whom they have high hopes for given how well he has started this season.
Should we replace Willian by Mount?

Harry Wilson will be at Liverpool next season while our boy Mount will go out on loan or play with reserves. Liverpool already have two acadmey players in the squad and they are challenging for the title. Maybe we should learn something?? #cfc #derby #lfc
