Ruben Loftus-Cheek had quite the England debut on Friday night.

At Wembley, against Germany, the 21-year-old was named the best player on the park.

He was not deemed quite good enough for Chelsea's first team this season, however, and was subsequently sent on loan to Crystal Palace for the 2017-18 campaign.

The midfielder, who is valued at £4.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, has shown bits and pieces of his huge potential at Selhurst Park, but he really came of age on Friday night as he impressed against the world champions.

After the match, Chelsea's official Twitter account paid tribute to the midfielder, which brought a reaction from the Premier League club's supporters.

Many were of the opinion that Loftus-Cheek should be recalled to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, which could well be an option.

Whatever happens at club level over the next six months or so, Loftus-Cheek's impressive international debut means that the midfielder is now under serious consideration to make Gareth Southgate's squad for the 2018 World Cup.
