Celtic took a big step towards the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night after Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda produced an exquisite assist and Callum McGregor slammed it home to beat FC Zenit at Celtic Park.

In a match that the Hoops struggled to find a vital winning goal, substitute Musonda provided the magic in the final third they were looking for to send Celtic Park into raptures.

Musonda started the team move that led to the goal, showing excellent close ball control before feeding a lovely inside pass to Olivier Ntcham and sprinting ahead to support Moussa Dembele.

Receiving the ball from the Frenchman at an awkward height, the Belgian looped a beautiful ball over the Russian defence to set up McGregor, who finished expertly.

It's the kind of occasion and impact that Musonda was brought to Celtic Park for and it's clear he has a bright future in the game at the elite level. Progressing under Brendan Rodgers will only improve him further.

Chelsea fans were delighted with his assist and took to Twitter to share their thoughts...
