AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was one of his side’s best performers on a disappointing Tuesday night at Anfield as they were beaten 5-2 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie against Liverpool, and his display didn’t go unnoticed by Chelsea fans.

The Belgium international, rated at £40.5m as per Transfermarkt, got both of the assists for the Serie A outfit's two goals, crossing for Edin Dzeko to score before his shot was handled by James Milner in the penalty area, and Diego Perotti converted from the spot.

Meanwhile, the Blues brought in Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko in the central midfield positions last summer as they tried to find a long-term partner for N'Golo Kante in the middle of the park, but the duo have struggled to impress the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Chelsea supporters, who said on Twitter earlier this month that they want Drinkwater to leave, were quick to have their say on Nainggolan's showing via social media, and they loved it.

While one said "he'd be superb next to Kante", another said they "would love to see Nainggolan at Chelsea".

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
