Chelsea fans poke fun at Courtois following his miserable El Clasico debut

Thibaut Courtois earned his dream move to Real Madrid in the summer, but at the moment the former Chelsea goalkeeper is having a miserable time.

In eight La Liga matches, the Belgian has conceded 13 goals and kept just two clean sheets.

Madrid as a whole are struggling on the pitch and head coach Julen Lopetegui is under pressure as Los Blancos sit ninth in the table, seven points adrift of leaders Barcelona.

On Sunday, Courtois started his first El Clasico against Madrid’s Catalan rivals, and it was a dismal 90 minutes for the shot-stopper.

He let five goals past him as Barca earned a 5-1 triumph at the Camp Nou.

Plenty of Chelsea fans were angered by Courtois’s decision to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer, so on a day when he conceded five goals and Maurizio Sarri’s team thrashed Burnley 4-0, supporters were delighted.

Many took to Twitter to rub salt into Courtois’s wounds and some praised their current keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who was bought in the summer.
