Frank Lampard will always be a much-loved figure among the Chelsea fanbase due to his 13 years of service at Stamford Bridge.

During that time, the former midfielder won 11 major trophies, including three Premier League titles.

After leaving the Blues, Lampard had spells at Manchester City and New York City before hanging up his boots and embarking on a coaching career.

Before the start of the season, the 40-year-old was appointed Derby County manager and currently sits sixth in the Championship table, two points off the top after nine games.

On Tuesday night, his team earned a huge scalp by ousting Manchester United from the EFL Cup in the third round.

Harry Wilson, on loan at the Rams from Liverpool, cancelled out Juan Mata’s opener before Jack Marriott gave the visitors at Old Trafford the lead with four minutes of normal time remaining.

During six minutes of stoppage time, Marouane Fellaini nabbed an equaliser, which sent the tie into penalties, of which Derby won 8-7.

On Reddit, plenty of Chelsea fans took joy in Lampard’s triumph.
