Chelsea fans praise Lampard following FA punishment

With most football fans, club legends can do no wrong in their eyes, and that is certainly the case with Chelsea and Frank Lampard.

The former midfielder spent 13 years of his career at the West London outfit, winning 11 trophies, including three Premier League titles.

Even after he left Chelsea in 2014 and had a spell at Manchester City, the fans’ love for Lampard never wavered.

Now, the 40-year-old is in a completely different stage of his career as he is the manager of Derby County.

It is Lampard’s first job in this field, and at the moment the Rams sit seventh in the Championship table having won four and lost three.

On Saturday, Derby’s three-game winning run came to an end as they were beaten 1-0 by Rotherham, and it was a controversial match that ended with Lampard being sent to the stands.

In the 77th minute, the referee dismissed the Derby boss after he left his technical area to complain about a handball decision.

The sending-off resulted in the Football Association charging Lampard with improper conduct, which has now resulted in a £2,000 fine.

On Reddit, some Chelsea fans posted their thoughts, and a few had admiration for their club legend.
