Chelsea fans question Morata’s quality following Arsenal clash

Alvaro Morata was warmly welcomed by the majority of Chelsea fans when he signed from Real Madrid in the summer.

With Diego Costa leaving to rejoin Atletico Madrid, the reigning Premier League champions were in need of a leading man up top.

The Spaniard has not quite set the division alight, mainly due to the scintillating form of the likes of Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah, but he has been impressive in front goal.

In 19 top-flight appearances, Morata has scored 10 goals and produced four assists, but in his last eight league outings, he has only managed to find the back of the net twice.

Frustration from Chelsea fans boiled over in Wednesday night’s clash against Arsenal at the Emirates, which ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw.

Morata had a handful of opportunities to put the Blues out of sight. In fact he was one-on-one with goalkeeper Petr Cech on three occasions, but he squandered every chance.

The striker’s latest performance has left the fans reeling.
