Frank Lampard has some difficult decisions to make ahead of his first competitive game as Chelsea manager against Manchester United on Sunday, with several players making a push during pre-season to be included in his starting XI.

One of those is Ross Barkley, who has stood out for the Blues during their warm-up matches. In total, he scored four goals and assisted another three, making him the most productive player of the squad from a goal contribution point of view.

Playing in a number ten role just behind the striker and flanked by two wingers appears to have brought the best out of the England international, who has improved even more following his resurgence from last season. The 25-year-old will be hoping he can make a big impact this term.

As will the Chelsea fans, of course, but for now, they seem excited enough about the former Everton midfielder's performances in pre-season. They have taken to Twitter to rave about the 25-year-old's current form.
