Chelsea fans react as 19 y/o Castillo now set to stay at Stamford Bridge

He may not be officially Chelsea’s manager just yet but it looks like Frank Lampard is already having a major effect on some of the Blues players who are seemingly eagerly awaiting his arrival.

Tammy Abraham essentially set the ball rolling when he declared his excitement at potentially playing under Lampard next season and it now appears another one of Chelsea’s academy players has been bitten by the feel-good bug.

After initially revealing last month that he was leaving the club this summer, versatile midfielder Juan Familio-Castillo is now set to stay at Stamford Bridge according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims Castillo is ready to discuss a new contract with the Blues and is looking forward to being potentially reunited with Lampard’s number two Jody Morris, who had worked as an academy coach between 2014 and 2018.

The dramatic U-turn saw Chelsea fans take to Twitter and many were understandably delighted that one of their young stars is ready to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Fans have been left encouraged and now feel the club are heading in the right direction with their youth talent, revealing their excitement at seeing Castillo get the chance to perform for the first-team next season.
