Former Chelsea target Alex Sandro played the full 90 minutes of Juventus’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie in Turin on Tuesday night, and Blues fans were quick to have their say on the Brazilian’s display.
Reports in The Telegraph on January 8 suggested that Antonio Conte was keen to bring the left-back to Stamford Bridge both during the summer and in the January transfer window, but the £60m price tag placed upon his head by the Serie A giants proved to be too much for the Premier League holders as they opted to sign Roma’s Emerson Palmieri instead.
The 27-year-old didn’t have a huge influence for his side in their draw against Spurs, but he did show glimpses of the quality that he has, although he also showed that he perhaps isn’t worth as much as Juventus were said to value him at.
Chelsea supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Alex Sandro, and while one said “so frustrating we didn’t sign him”, another said “Chelsea should’ve tried harder to get Alex Sandro tbh”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
Now i see the reason why Conte was fighting hard to sign Alex Sandro. He's areal force in #Juve's defence & attack

Alex Sandro is so good man, so frustrating we didn’t sign him, imagine Morata on the end of one of those crosses
