When Tomas Kalas signed for then Premier League champions Chelsea for a reported £5.2m in July 2010, it was regarded as a real coup by the Blues hierarchy.

But over the years, the Czech Republic international has failed to make his mark at Stamford Bridge and has spent the previous few seasons on loan at Championship sides.

Now, the Bristol Post claim Bristol City have beaten Scottish giants Celtic to make Kalas' move to the club permanent - just days after signing fellow Chelsea star Jay Dasilva.

After hearing the news Kalas would be leaving the club for good, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to reveal their thoughts on the matter.

Many fans of the west London side paid tribute to the versatile defender and empathised with him for not being given a real chance with the club.

Indeed, some pointed back to 26 year-old's performance in Chelsea's huge 2-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield back in April 2014 as one of the highlights of his Stamford Bridge career and wished him luck with his future at Bristol City.
