Chelsea fans react as Liverpool line up Riyad Mahrez move

According to reports in French publication L’Equipe, Liverpool are keen to replace Philippe Coutinho with Leicester winger and Chelsea target Riyad Mahrez if the attacking midfielder joins Barcelona this month, and Blues fans have been quick to have their say on the rumour.

L’Equipe says that if Coutinho does join the La Liga leaders during the January transfer window the Reds will look to bring in a replacement, with Mahrez and Monaco’s Thomas Lemar two potential options.

The Sun reported on Friday that Antonio Conte was ready to step up his interest in the Algeria international having completed a £15m deal to bring Ross Barkley to Stamford Bridge, and the 26-year-old has certainly been in decent form with seven goals and eight appearances in 22 Premier League appearances for the Foxes this season.

Chelsea supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Liverpool’s interest in the wide-man, and while one said “don’t let Liverpool sign Mahrez”, another said “we need Mahrez more than them”.
