Many Chelsea fans have been reacting on social media after Tammy Abraham explained to the Blues' official website what went into preparing for his goal against Watford.

The 22-year-old notched his ninth goal of the Premier League season at the weekend when he connected with a delicately floated long pass by Jorginho, which released Abraham to side foot the ball past Ben Foster.

Abraham had to perfectly time his run to meet Jorginho's pass and not be called offside, and to also not be tracked back by a Watford defender - giving him a greater chance of receiving possession unchallenged.

He has now explained to Chelsea's official website that the goal was something Frank Lampard and his side had been working on in training, after failing to perfectly deliver it in a match when previously attempted this season.

"We have been working on that in training," Abraham said. " [Jorginho] told me he was going to try it today so I just had to time my run, try to stay onside and get a good finish and that is what I did.

"We have been doing it a lot in training and we have tried it a few times this season. It has come off a few times and sometimes it hasn’t but I was ready today."

Abraham finding the net in the early stages of Saturday's win at Watford ensured the England striker moved to second in the Premier League Golden Boot standings, one behind Leicester City's Jamie Vardy.

His haul of nine goals is also as more than double that recorded by any other Chelsea player after 11 games.
