According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, reported via The Mirror, AC Milan are considering cutting Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan switch from Chelsea short in January.
The Serie A club’s manager, Gennaro Gattuso, has criticised ‘defects’ in the 24-year-old midfielder’s game.
Bakayoko joined the Blues from Monaco in the summer of 2017 in a move that cost the Premier League club a fee in the region of £40m. The France international did not impress at Stamford Bridge, though, and produced a number of desperately poor performances for his new club.
After a difficult first season in England, the Frenchman was sent off on loan to AC Milan. However, so far, this has proved to have been another misjudged move. Bakayoko has only made four league appearances for the Rossoneri and has not impressed at all in his time at the San Siro.
If he were to be sent back to Chelsea in January it would be a disaster for his career and would leave Maurizio Sarri with little option but to cut the club’s losses on the 6’2” man as soon as possible.
Chelsea fans certainly aren’t thrilled with the prospect of Bakayoko’s return. After the story emerged, many took to Twitter to express their views upon the situation…
