Chelsea fans react to confirmed starting XI against Manchester City

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made two changes to the side that was beaten 2-1 by Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend for the visit to their arch-rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, and Blues fans have been quick to have their say on the selection.

Cesc Fabregas and Pedro have replaced N’Golo Kante and Alvaro Morata in the starting XI, with the former absent from the squad completely through illness and the latter sitting alongside Olivier Giroud on the substitutes’ bench with Eden Hazard playing in a false nine role up top.

The west London outfit are in desperate need of points after the defeat against Jose Mourinho’s men last time out, combined with wins for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, has left them five points adrift of the Champions League qualification spots ahead of their clash against the Pep Guardiola’s side.

Chelsea supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the Italian’s selection, and while one simply labelled it as a “horrible line-up”, another said not picking a striker is  a “suicidal decision”.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
