Chelsea fans are tearing manager Maurizio Sarri to shreds on Twitter after his latest comments about wonderkid striker Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The seething Blues are accusing the chain-smoking 60-year-old of not trusting the 18-year-old in big games despite him already proving himself on the senior scene with three goals and an assist in seven UEFA Europa League appearances this season.

Speaking ahead of Thursday night's Europa League round-of-16 second leg at Dynamo Kyiv, Sarri said that he wasn't sure whether the England youth international would be named in the XI.

The West London club lead 3-0 from the first leg meaning the second leg is a perfect opportunity to give a youngster like Hudson-Odoi experience. However, the Italian seemingly disagrees.

It wouldn't be the first time in 2018/2019 that the new manager has roused the Stamford Bridge faithful and certainly not the first time over this criminally-underused starlet, either.

Supporters understandably want to see an end to the situation which is "getting out of hand" with sections worrying about the kind of message Sarri's comments send to Hudson-Odoi and what they do to his confidence. Meanwhile others just desperately want to see him play and are concerned about losing him to Bayern Munich if he's not being picked over players he's much fresher than, such as Willian.

And if you ask most, they'd rather see the number 20 start most big matches, instead of barely being fully considered for games such as Thursday's in Ukraine.
