A full Wales international despite being just 18, it’s fair to say Ethan Ampadu has enjoyed a meteoric rise with Chelsea since arriving from Exeter City two years ago.
The versatile prospect became the west London side’s eighth youngest debutant when he featured in a Carabao Cup clash against Nottingham Forest in September 2017, but saw last season cut short through injury problems.
Now, the club have confirmed that Ampadu will join Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on a season-long loan as the Welshman looks to build up his number of minutes in first-team football.
After hearing the news that Ampadu had joined the German side on a temporary deal, Chelsea fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the decision to loan him out.
Many wished the teenager well with his time in Germany and felt that even with the strong competition the Blues have at centre-back, Ampadu’s talent could see him eventually nail down a spot.
Indeed, some Chelsea supporters felt Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann was the perfect manager for Ampadu to learn from and that the German’s reputation for developing players was perfect for the 18-year-old.
Check out some of the reaction of Chelsea fans below:
Good luck Ethan

Hoping this loan comes good. Lots of competition there, but he has the talent. Could be huge for us.
