Chelsea fans react to Frank Lampard’s Derby beating Manchester United at Old Trafford

Chelsea fans have heaped the praise on Frank Lampard after their former player led his Derby County side to a victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening – a huge scalp for the Championship outfit.

The Rams won 8-7 on penalties after the match finished in a 2-2 draw, and Lampard’s side were even leading 2-1 before United midfielder Marouane Fellaini equalised in added time.

The game was poised to be an interesting one with the 40-year-old having played under United manager José Mourinho when they were both at Chelsea, winning the Premier League together in 2005 and 2006.

Lampard, who is seen as one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players, took up his first managerial role at Derby in May, currently sitting sixth in the Championship as the team fights for a promotion spot.
