Chelsea's Olivier Giroud has been cast as the voice behind the Green Goblin in the French version of an upcoming animated Spider-Man film.

The Frenchman and his international team-mate Presnel Kimpembe will both lend their voices to two of the web-slinger's arch-nemeses in the Green Goblin and Scorpion, respectively.

Portraying a villain on the screen, the striker is yet to be a hero on the pitch and this is likely the first time this season that the 32-year-old has made a headline - he is yet to net in the league yet under Maurizio Sarri and is currently struggling for minutes even while Alvaro Morata dips in and out of form.

The Blues hit man is continually linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge (Le Foot via the The Sun), with Marseille rumoured to be interested in bringing him back to the league where he made a name for himself, winning the Ligue 1 title with Montpellier in 2012.

Here's how Chelsea fans on Twitter reacted to Giroud's theatrical dabble.
