Olivier Giroud has almost become the forgotten man at Stamford Bridge this year.

Last term, he played a vital role as Chelsea won the Europa League, netting 11 goals and providing five assists in the competition, including one in the final in Baku against Arsenal. However, this term, he has played in just four games in all competitions, with his last appearance coming against Valencia on September 17th in the Champions League.

The former Arsenal man has still been in top form for his country though, scoring in each of France's last two Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Clearly, he has a lot more to give, something which the 33-year-old thinks as well.

Following his latest strike against Turkey, he said: "I'm going to fight for my place in Chelsea. The coach knows it. And we will make the decision in January. If I want to leave Chelsea? Not necessarily. But if I need to make a choice... I have some beautiful years in front of me. I'm 33, I still have legs and a good healthy lifestyle and I feel good physically.

"Chelsea is my priority, but if in the end I'm forced to make a choice, I will do it as when I left Arsenal."

Considering his recent international form, it makes sense that he would want to leave the club should he continue to watch from the bench or the stands.

The Chelsea supporters have been quick to react to his quotes, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.
