Chelsea fans react to reports club are scouting French wonderkids Mounir Chouiar and Bryan Soumare

A selection of Chelsea fans have been reacting on social media to reports by The Sun claiming that the West London outfit are scouting French ‘wonderkids’ Mounir Chouiar and Bryan Soumare.

It is thought the Blues could make a swoop to sign the duo in January if their two-window transfer ban is lifted early, with their appeal set to be heard by the Court of Arbitration on November 20.

Soumare and Chouiar both play in Ligue 1 for Dijon FCO, who are struggling at the wrong end of the French top-flight table after 12 games.

Was Maurizio Sarri’s departure from Chelsea the best thing that could have happened to the club? Find out why in the video below…

They shocked league-leaders Paris-Saint Germain in their last outing, though, with Chouiar equalising the scoring in a 2-1 comeback win as he impressed, as he recorded 62 touches, two successful dribbles, three key passes, five successful tackles and one interception from the left wing, per WhoScored data.

The French-Moroccan is said to be available for a minimal fee as his contract is close to expiring, and Dijon may well have to sell some players in January to fund a fight against relegation.

However, Get Football News France and TransferMarkt note that Chouiar is tied to Dijon until 2022 after joining the Stade Gaston Gerard natives from RC Lens this summer.

Soumare was an unused substitute against PSG, but has made eight appearances this season since the 20-year-old joined Dijon as a free agent last summer.

The attacking midfielder, capable of playing on either wing, has made four key passes and taken six shots but is yet to score or assist a goal and is tied to Les Moutardes until 2022.

Reaction to the report has been fairly mixed. While some Chelsea fans have encouraged the club to swoop for both players, others have named players they’d like to see arrive instead – such as Nice’s Youcef Atal and AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek – while one seems oblivious to who the youngsters are.

Here are some of the reactions in full to The Sun claiming that Chelsea are interested in Dijon’s wonderkids Chouiar and Soumare…
