Chelsea have been linked to numerous strikers this month, but so far Antonio Conte has failed to bring in a new face.
The speculation suggests that the Italian coach is looking for a back-up forward to Alvaro Morata.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is next on the list, but only if they fail to land another target.
The Blues are believed to be interesting in bringing in former Manchester City star Edin Dzeko from Roma, but the publication claims that a deal is yet to be reached.
Following the summer arrival of Alexandre Lacazette at Arsenal, Giroud dropped further down the pecking order.
This season he has been restricted to just one start in the Premier League, and instead has had to settle for 14 cameo appearances.
Most of the Frenchman’s game time has been in the Europa League, in which he has started six games.
In total, Giroud has scored seven goals in all competitions, and now Chelsea fans are deliberating whether or not the 31-year-old would thrive at Stamford Bridge.
So we are linked with Giroud and funny enough he’s an upgrade to most the other lads we are linked with. Both sad and interesting #cfc

Olivier Giroud should be our priority, and it should be a permanent deal. Would be a great signing, the mans got over 100 goals for Arsenal, knows the league well and he could play in the UCL this season #CFC

Of all the reported #CFC targets, Giroud seems the most logical. He knows the Premier League well and his aerial ability is undoubted. He provides value for money over an 18 month period and could be replaced by Abraham, who would benefit from another year of regular football.

These Giroud rumours will just be Clubs policy to pressurize Roma into a deal. I dont see any truth in Giroud to #CFC.

Giroud is 31 years old, Same as Dzeko! If we aren't going to go against our policy to try and sign Dzeko.. Then why we bothering trying to get another 31 year old?! Just give Dzeko what he wants! he much better than Giroud #CFC
