Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to praise their out-on-loan defender Fikayo Tomori for his excellent showing in the FA Cup third round win over Southampton, in which he helped Derby overcome the Premier League side on penalties.
The 21-year-old was a rock at the back throughout the entire 120 minutes against a revitalised Saints side under Ralph Hasenhuttl, showing great character to keep his head and overturn the result after the top-flight strugglers took a 2-0 lead at St Mary’s.
Tomori has started 24 Championship games this season for the Rams under Frank Lampard, and looks to be benefiting hugely from his loan stint at Pride Park, which has caught the attentions of Blues’ fans who have been keeping tabs on both his and Mason Mount’s development at Derby.
They were already quietly impressed with the young centre-back, but after his FA Cup heroics, they have taken to Twitter to heap praise on the Canadian…
Unpopular opinion: but tomori is better than mount. I know they play different positions but tomori is better in his position than mount is in his.

Tomori looks like he's got the makings of a Premier League player. Whether he'll be good enough to play for Chelsea remains to be seen but nice to see another academy graduate doing well for himself.
