Chelsea fans have been reacting on Twitter on Thursday after winger Willian made comments backing up much-maligned teammate Jorginho.

Ahead of the Blues' UEFA Europa League round-of-16 second-leg encounter with Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine on Thursday evening, the 64-cap Brazilian spoke to the press and was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on booing from the Chelsea fans directed towards his teammate, "I think it's unfair."

Jorginho has been booed frequently in his first season at Stamford Bridge, often criticised for only passing the ball backwards or sideways and not progressing it forwards.

And his comrade clearly doesn't want to see it when he's out on the pitch with him, although it must be noted that Willian himself has endured his fair share of criticism from the stands this campaign.

On one hand, jeering and booing at a player when he's not playing well is part of the parcel of the game and in cases, deserved. But on the other, it can be bad for a star's confidence when it is already low.

Blues have responded to the comments in their droves, contradicting each other over a subject that's divided the fan base in some respects, some agreeing with Willian whereas others have suggested he should be the one booed and that Jorginho is simply not "Chelsea material".
